When I was studying Cognitive Science I learned of a study on gender perception in which three eigenfaces were generated from a large body of photographs - one male, one female, and one gender-neutral. Then a difference eigenface was created by subtracting the male one from the neutral one. As you’d expect, you could recreate the male one by adding the difference back to the neutral one, but the researchers also showed that you could create the female one by subtracting the difference from the neutral one. What does this mean? I think the conclusion is clear: 2% of my DNA is Pleiadian.
